Last week, a storm went through Southern Illinois and my BlackBerry was out. Verizon lost towers in the storm and I couldn't get messages to people. However, we realized something similar to what you just said; we need more flashlights, and some battery operated electronics in case it happens again. Glad you got through it OK. You're fortunate.
