YouTube has launched several new features that should excite people who embed their videos in their web sites.
Sometime during the evening of December 3rd, a new button appeared on YouTube next to where you find the URL and Embed codes. You can see it in the first picture of this post. When you click on it you find several new options for what you can do with your embedded videos.
First up is the option show related videos which usually pop up when an embedded video is done playing. This is followed by asking if you want to have a border around yoru video player.
You then have the choice of choosing what color scheme you would like for the control bar at the bottom of the player. This will allow you to better match the color scheme of your website, and the videos won’t stand out as much.
The most interesting thing is the last option allows you to make a choice of four different sizes you can make the video player. This will allow you to find a size that better matches the size of your site’s posting space, and will also allow you to show the full versions of any videos that have been uploaded in the widescreen aspect ratio YouTube added last week.
Seems there are a lot of exciting things going over at YouTube as of late and it may prove a good idea to keep an eye on them to see what else they have planned.

Did you also notice their new search boxes at the top of every video you embed on the web? They take up half the video screen and they don’t work. Search for anything and the there’s nothing in the results. It’s going to force a lot of websites to find another option..
